    Chocolate fudge ingredients

This is a quick and easy 3 ingredient fudge recipe made with chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and nuts.

As the condensed milk adds a lot of sweetness, it is best to use semisweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or a combination of both.

Nuts like pecans or walnuts add a nice crunch to the dessert. But if you do not like nuts for any reason, you can replace them with dates, dried cranberries, or just skip them entirely.

Can you make fudge in an instant pot?

Fudge can be made in a microwave, stovetop, or in an instant pot. I love the fact that you can make this 3 ingredient fudge quickly in the instant pot in just 10 minutes.

Instant pot can be used as a double boiler to melt chocolate, so it works well to make this chocolate fudge.

You will need stainless steel or a glass bowl that fits on the instant pot liner. The bowl should sit on the liner and not go inside it, else it can get stuck and be difficult to remove.

To use the instant pot as a double boiler, pour 2 cups of water in the liner and turn on the saute mode.

chocolate fudge step by step collage.

Put the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in the bowl and place it on the instant pot liner.

As the water will boil, the chocolate chips will start melting. With the help of a spatula keep mixing the chocolate chips intermittently until they have melted completely.

The mixture should look smooth and glossy. At this point, you can mix in any nuts like pecans or walnuts.

Transfer the mixture into an 8-inch pan lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Try to smoothen the surface as much as possible with a spatula or icing smoother.

Allow the fudge to cool down and set for about 30 minutes and then keep it in the fridge for about an hour to help make it firm.

Once it has been set and cooled down, you can cut it into pieces of about an inch in size.

    How to store fudge unrefrigerated?

Fudge can be stored unrefrigerated at room temperature for about 7-10 days. It is best to cut into pieces and store them in an air-tight container.

If you want to plan ahead and make a big batch of this delicious treat, then you can also refrigerate or freeze it.

How long does fudge last in the fridge?

Chocolate fudge can last in the fridge for up to a month and in the freezer for about 2-3 months.

It is best to cut the fudge into smaller pieces and store it in an airtight container and refrigerate it.

When you are ready to eat, keep it at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to get to the right consistency.

While freezing, layer the fudge pieces with wax paper or parchment paper, else they will stick together and will be difficult to separate.

It is also a good idea to make patches of few pieces and freeze them so you can use one batch at a time.

To thaw the frozen fudge pieces, keep them in the fridge overnight and about 15-20 minutes at room temperature.

Made for first time and it is delicious and so much easier in the Instant Pot then the recipes I have done in the microwave. This is the "go to" fudge.

Do you put the bowl in the pot using the trivet?

            Hi Kerry,

I use a bowl that sits on top of the instant pot liner. The bowl is large enough so that it does not get stuck in the liner.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

            Regards
            Alpa
