Oreos are kids' favorite and they love anything with Oreos, and one of them is the oreo ice cream. Oreo cheesecake ice cream can be easily made at home with just a few ingredients and oreo cookies. It makes a great treat for after-school, summer parties, or birthdays.
This is an easy recipe to make Oreo cheesecake ice cream at home in the Cuisinart ice cream maker. The cream cheese base is churned in the ice cream maker and then crushed oreo cookies are mixed in it before freezing.
Ingredients
Oreo cheesecake ice cream is made with 5 ingredients and obviously Oreo cookies. However, if you do not have Oreos you can use any other cookies. The cookies can be added just a few minutes before the ice cream is done churning or they can be layered into the ice cream while freezing it.
Cookies can be easily crushed in a food processor in pulse mode or can also be placed in a ziplock bag and crushed with a rolling pin. You don't want to make the cookies very fine but they should be chunky and you should be able to bite them in the ice cream.
Other main ingredients include cream cheese, whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar. I like to use Philadelphia cream cheese. It is important to bring the cream cheese to room temperature before using it, or else it will be difficult to blend it.

Instructions
It is really very easy to make oreo cheesecake ice cream at home. In a large bowl, using a hand blender with the whisk attachment or a hand mixer, blend the cream cheese until it is smooth and fluffy. Add the milk, sugar, and salt and blend well until all the sugar dissolves.
Mix in the heavy cream with the help of a spatula. There is no need to blend it as the mixture will be churned in the ice cream maker.
Chill the mixture for about 2 hours in the refrigerator. Prepare the ice cream maker as per the manufacturer's instructions.
Before churning the ice cream, stir the mixture to ensure it has an even consistency. Churn the mixture in the ice cream maker for about 30 minutes.
Once you churn the ice cream, arrange the ice cream and the coarsely crushed pieces of Oreo cookies in multiple layers and freeze them for about 6 hours before serving.

Equipment
I am using the Cuisinart ICE 100 ice cream maker to make this recipe. However, any other ice cream maker will work and you can scale the recipe as per the capacity of your ice cream machine.

Serving suggestions
Just like the cookies and cream ice cream, Oreo cheesecake ice cream is so delicious that it will really be gone in no time once it is out of the freezer. It is great as is but you can also top it with some chocolate sauce.
You can scoop the ice cream in a sugar cone, waffle cone, or waffle cup.
Storage
Layer the cream cheese ice cream and oreo cookies in a freezer-safe container or ice cream container. Lock the lid and store the ice cream in the freezer for about 6 hours before serving.
Homemade ice cream stores well in the freezer for about a week. Ideally, it can be stored for a month too but you may see some ice crystals on the top. You can scoop away the ice cream crystals and still enjoy the ice cream.
