Ingredients
Making air fryer brownies with box mix is very easy to make with very few ingredients. I have made this recipe without eggs. All you need is oil, water, yogurt (as an egg substitute), and the box brownie mix.

There are different types of brownie mixes available but the process will remain the same. I have made these air fryer brownies using the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie mix available in Costco.
Olive oil works best for baking these brownies, but any other oil will serve the purpose as well. Egg substitutes like banana puree and baking powder can be used instead of yogurt.
Instructions
Making box brownies in the air fryer is very easy. I have made it without eggs and have used yogurt. However, if you use eggs, you can follow the instructions on the box to make the brownie batter.
To make an eggless brownie, whisk oil, water, and yogurt in a large mixing bowl, until it is light and mixed well. Add the brownie mix from the pack to this mixture. Mix well using the stand mixer flat beater or with a spatula.

Whisk oil, water, and yogurt.

Add the box brownie mix.
Now depending on the size of the air fryer, you might be able to fit an 8x8 inch tray or a smaller one. I used a 6x6 inch baking tray and divided the brownie batter into 2 parts.
Transfer half of the brownie batter into the baking tray lined with parchment paper and place it in the air fryer. There is no need to preheat the air fryer and this also helps in placing the tray in the air fryer basket.

Transfer half of the mixture to a 6x6 inch tray.

Brownie is done.
Air fry the brownies for 20 minutes at 325°F. Check after 20 minutes and the brownie will start pulling from the edges. This is a sign of doneness, it may look undercooked, but they will continue cooking with the residual heat. Allow it to completely cool down before cutting it into pieces of about 2 inches.
Serving suggestions
Homemade boxed brownies are great for snacking, as a treat for kids, as an easy potluck dessert, or to satisfy your sweet tooth when you are craving something sweet.
You can go a step further by making this delicious sizzling brownie with ice cream dessert and surprise your family and friends.
Another pleasant way to serve it is to warm the brownie a little and put a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle some chocolate sauce over it. Don't forget to add some walnuts and finish it with some whipped cream!

Substitutions
I have used the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie mix however, any other brownie mix will work fine.
Also, I have made this without eggs by using yogurt instead. Other options are to use ground flax seeds with water or banana puree with some baking powder.
Here is a great post on what to use instead of eggs in brownies.
Equipment
Boxed brownies can be made in any air fryer provided the baking pan fits in the air fryer. I have used a 4 qt. Instant Vortex Plus air fryer and 6-inch baking tray. I had to make the brownies in two batches.
It is also recommended to use parchment paper to line the baking tray. It becomes easy to reuse the baking tray for the second batch once it cools down a bit instead of using another one.
If your air fryer can fit a bigger tray such that the entire brownie mix can be made in a single batch, then cooking time may vary by a few minutes. The brownie should start pulling from the edges, this is a sign of doneness.

Storage
Brownies can be stored at room temperature for about 5 days. To keep them fresh, store them in an air-tight container after cutting them. In order to store them longer, you can put them in the refrigerator or store them in the freezer.
Once stored in the fridge, the brownies can harden a little. Warming them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds will make it be soft again. Frozen brownies can be thawed at room temperature or in the microwave.
Top tip
You can cook the brownie in the air fryer without preheating it first. This helps in placing the baking tray easily inside the air fryer basket.
