Green beans are a great snack and a perfect side dish for any meal. They are delicious, nutritious, flavorful, and easy to make.
I like to cook frozen green beans in the air fryer as it is very quick and easy. It takes only a few minutes and only a few ingredients for seasoning.
Frozen green beans are available in the freezer section of grocery stores. You can also buy in bulk when you find fresh ones at a great price and store them in the freezer after rinsing them with water and drying them with a kitchen towel.
Ingredients
The main ingredient is of course frozen green beans. You can very well use the fresh ones or even freeze them when you buy them in bulk. I have made this non-breaded frozen green beans recipe in the air fryer with very few pantry ingredients.

For the seasoning, you will need some olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and red chili flakes. You can also use sea salt and also skip the chili flakes if you do not like them spicy or if you are making them for kids. Alternatively, you can also use some red chili powder.
Instructions
Making frozen green beans in an air fryer is very simple and quick. First, take a bag of frozen green beans and empty it into a mixing bowl. Just like most frozen veggies, there is no need to defrost the frozen green beans as you can cook them directly from frozen.
Mix in the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and some red chili flakes if you want them spicy. Toss everything to ensure that the green beans are well coated.

Add all the ingredients to a bowl.

Toss everything well.
Preheat the air fryer to 390°F and then put the green beans into the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8 minutes. After 4-5 minutes, shake the basket once and continue to cook for the remaining time.
Green beans will be well cooked, you can insert a fork and test for doneness. It should insert easily and that is a good sign that the green beans are cooked.
If you like them a little more well done then you can cook for an additional minute if needed. You can also sprinkle some salt or red chili flakes if needed.

Transfer green beans to the preheated air fryer.

Air fryer green beans are ready.
Substitutions
Instead of salt, you can use sea salt and for red chili flakes, you can also use some red chili powder or black pepper.
Some fresh garlic chives can be sprinkled on top after cooking for some flavor.
Variations
This frozen green bean recipe is vegan and gluten-free. You can adapt it to your taste by using the seasoning of your preference.
Spicy - if you don't like it spicy, you can just skip the chili flakes altogether.
Lemon juice - sprinkle a few drops of lemon juice after they are done cooking to add more flavor.

Equipment
I have made this air fryer frozen green beans in Instant Vortex Plus air fryer. It can be made in any type of air fryer, be it basket style, tray style, or any size. Depending on your air fryer, the cooking time may vary by a few minutes.
Storage
Air fryer green beans is absolutely delicious and will be gone in a matter of minutes. However, any leftovers can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container. You can reheat them in the microwave before serving.
Top tip
There is no need to thaw the frozen green beans before cooking them in the air fryer.
