Pierogies are a great accompaniment to your meals. They can be served as a side dish, appetizer, and snack. They are European dumplings with a savory filling of cheese, onions, potato, spinach, and other vegetables.

It can be quite tedious to make them from scratch. But the good news is that the frozen pierogies are easy to make in just under 10 minutes!

Air fryer frozen pierogies turn out crispy and that too with little oil. Frozen pierogies can be found in the frozen food aisles of your local grocery stores like Trader Joe's, Publix, Target, and Costco. The most popular brand is Mrs. T's pierogies.

I enjoy the potato and cheddar cheese pierogies and other types can be air fried in a similar way.

    Ingredients

To make frozen pierogies in the air fryer, you ideally need only one ingredient. Yes! the frozen pierogies. I have used pierogies with a filling of cheddar cheese and potatoes, but you can use other flavors of pierogies.

Frozen pierogies are available in the frozen section in most grocery stores like Trader Joe's, Target, Walmart, Publix, and some Costco.

There are different sizes of frozen pierogies available. If you use the mini ones you will have to adjust the cooking time in the air fryer accordingly.

A little bit of oil is used for spraying on top of the pierogies else they can turn out quite dry and chewy. Applying a little bit of oil makes them crispy from the top.

    Instructions

It is very easy to cook Mrs. T's pierogies or any other brand in the air fryer and even kids can do it! There is no need to thaw them before air frying and you can cook the pierogies from frozen.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 2-3 minutes or until it prompts you to add food. Spray some oil in the air fryer basket and carefully place the pierogies in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray oil on top of the pierogies with an oil sprayer.

You can air fry them in multiple batches if needed and also make use of kitchen tongs to help place them.

Air fry the frozen pierogies at 400°F for 5-6 minutes. After about 3-4 minutes of air frying, open the air fryer basket and flip them.

Continue air frying for the remaining time and then open the air fryer basket. Air fryer pierogies are now ready to eat. They will be crispy from the outside and soft inside depending on the filling.

If you want the pierogies to be more golden brown in color or if they are not as crispy as your liking then you can air fry them for a minute or two more. Also, depending on the size of the frozen pierogies, the air frying time will vary.

    Serving suggestions

It is best to serve the crunchy pierogies hot once they are out of the air fryer. You can serve them with sour cream, Greek yogurt, melted butter, or your favorite dipping sauce.

I have made these frozen air fryer pierogies in Instant Vortex Plus air fryer. It can be made in any type of air fryer, be it basket style or tray style, or any size. Depending on your air fryer, the cooking time may vary by a minute or two.

Also, depending on the size of the air fryer, you may have to air fry pierogies in multiple batches.

    Storage

Air-fried frozen pierogies are best consumed immediately while they are hot. In case you have any leftover pierogies, you can store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container. When you are ready to eat, you can simply reheat them in the air fryer at 360°F for a minute or two.

    Top tip

There is no need to thaw the frozen pierogies before cooking them in the air fryer.
