    Hot chocolate ingredients

It is really easy to make creamy and rich hot chocolate at home with just 7 ingredients. This recipe does not use any instant mix like Swiss Miss but is made from scratch.

You will need whole milk, heavy cream, semi-sweet chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

To make a creamy dreamy hot chocolate you must use whole milk and not other low-fat milk. Also, a good quality cocoa powder and chocolate chips will give the drink a delicious rich taste.

How to make hot chocolate in an instant pot?

It is really very easy to make hot chocolate in an instant pot. All you need to do is put all the ingredients in the instant pot liner and give it a quick mix with a whisk. Don't worry if all the ingredients don't mix up well at this point, once it is cooked, it will be smooth and creamy.

Close and lock the instant pot lid and cook on low-pressure mode for 5 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes and then remove the remaining pressure manually by moving the knob in the venting position.

Open the lid, mix everything well and serve hot with a ladle in your favorite holiday mugs. Top it with some whipped cream, marshmallows, or your favorite toppings. If you are serving it to a crowd then you can arrange a hot chocolate bar so the guests can decorate their own hot chocolate.
