Ingredients
To make copycat Dave's killer bread, you will need bread flour, whole wheat flour, multigrain cereal (5, 7, or 10 grains cereal), instant yeast, brown sugar, oil, and water.
A variety of seeds like pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds are added.
Instructions
Weigh the flour so that you don't end up adding too much flour than needed. Weighing flour gives consistent results. Add all the wet and dry ingredients into the bread machine pan as per your bread machine manufacturer.
Step 1: Gather all the ingredients.
Step 2: Put all the wet and dry ingredients into the bread machine pan. Start the basic white bread cycle for 1.5 lb.
The bread machine will do all the mixing, kneading, rising, and baking. Once the bread is ready, remove it immediately from the pan by inverting and shaking it. Leaving it for too long inside the pan can cause the bread to become moist and soggy due to condensation.
Step 3: Bread is ready once the cycle is complete.
Step 4: Place the bread on the cooling rack to let it cool down completely.
Place the bread on a cooling rack to cool down completely. Slice it with a serrated bread knife or an electric knife.
Substitutions
- Flour - all-purpose flour or bread flour can be used.
- Yeast - instant yeast or bread machine yeast can be used
- Multi-grain cereal - instead of multigrain cereal, rolled oats can be used.
Variations
Bake in oven - use the dough cycle to make the dough and then shape it into a log of 8-inch log and let it rise in a 9-inch by 5-inch pan. Once it is double in volume, bake it at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Storage
This copycat Dave's killer bread can be stored at room temperature in a bread box, bread bags, or air-tight containers for 3-4 days. If you want to store it for long, it is best to slice it and freeze it. Check out how to freeze bread.
Top tip
- It is best to weigh the flour for consistent results.
- Observe the dough after about 10 minutes of initial kneading and add some water or flour if needed in case the dough looks too dry or wet.
