Ingredients
To make air fryer toast, you will need only one ingredient and that is bread slices. I have used the white bread to make this air fryer toast but any other types of bread will work and they can be homemade or store bought.
Depending on your preference you can top the toast with your favorite toppings like butter, jam, jelly, peanut butter, cheese, avocado, and more.
If you make bread at home and freeze the slices after cutting them, you can directly make toast in the air fryer.

Instructions
Making an air fryer toast at home is an easy process. It is a great way to toast your bread when your toaster is not working or for homemade bread machine bread slices which do not fit in the toaster.
Preheat the air fryer to 360°F for 2-3 minutes or depending on your air fryer, it will prompt you to add food once it is preheated.
Place one or more bread slices in the air fryer basket or th air fryer tray and air fry it for 3 minutes on 360°F. After about 2 minutes flip the slices with the help of kitchen tongs and continue to air fry for the remaining time.
Flipping the bread slice halfway through the cooking time ensures that both the sides get browned evenly otherwise one side will be more golden brown in color.

Remove the air fryer toast with the help of kitchen tongs and continue with other bread slices if you have more. It is time to enjoy your morning toast with a cup of coffee or tea 🙂
Substitutions
I have made this air fryer toast with basic white bread but any type of bread, store-bought bread or homemade bread like multigrain bread, French bread, sourdough bread, cinnamon raisin bread, walnut raisin bread, whole wheat bread, gluten-free bread, or buttermilk bread can be toasted in the air fryer in the similar manner.
You can air fry fresh bread slices or the frozen ones in a similar way. You may also like the frozen Texas toast recipe.

You can also make avocado toast by topping it with some sliced avocados and sprinkling some salt and pepper. Air fryer cinnamon toast can be made by applying a mixture of softened butter, cinnamon powder, and brown sugar.
A slice of cheddar cheese or pepper jack cheese between two toasted bread makes a great cheese toast which can be enjoyed with some ketchup.

Equipment
I have air-fried this basic white bread to toast in the 4 qt. Instant Vortex Plus air fryer and it can be made in any air fryer, be it basket style air fryer, or with a tray. Depending on the capacity of your air fryer, you can air fry more than one slice of bread at a time.
Storage
Air fryer toast stays well at room temperature for 2-3 days. You can keep it in a bread box or an air-tight container.
Top tip
- It is recommended to flip the toast halfway while air frying so that it does not become browner on one side.
