Frozen breadsticks are a quick and easy side dish to complement any meal especially when you are short on time. I usually purchase and keep a pack or two of frozen New York Bakery breadsticks in my freezer for such busy days.
It is a quick after-school snack for kids and tastes delicious with some marinara sauce.
Earlier before I had an air fryer I used to bake frozen breadsticks in the oven. It used to take a long time since first you need to preheat the oven and then bake it for 8-10 minutes.
Air fryer frozen breadsticks take only a few minutes to cook, especially when you just want a few of them. It can be baked in a matter of a few minutes and served as an accompaniment to your meals or as a side for most soups and tomato soup is my family favorite.
Ingredients
To make these frozen breadsticks in the air fryer, you just need one ingredient. I have used the New York Bakery frozen garlic breadsticks but other brands can also be air fried in the similar way.
You can also make breadsticks at home and then freeze them in the freezer. They can also be reheated in the air fryer.

Instructions
To cook frozen bread sticks in the air fryer, first, preheat the air fryer to 390°F for about 2-3 minutes. If air fry at a lower temperature, they will take a little longer to cook and they also tend to dry from the top.
Once the air fryer is heated, place 3-4 frozen breadsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer depending on the size of the basket.
Air fry breadsticks for about 3 minutes at 390°F, the garlic butter will melt as they get heated. They will be done once the crust is golden brown or to your preferred texture. Once you break them they will be well cooked and soft from inside.
If you want to air fry more frozen breadsticks then you can continue in the same way in batches. You might also enjoy this Texas toast recipe in air fryer.

Serving suggestions
Breadsticks can be served as an appetizer with marinara sauce. You can eat them with soups like pasta soup, 15 bean soup, and tomato soup especially when you don't have time to make grilled cheese sandwiches.
It also complements mac and cheese and fettucine alfredo well. I also serve it with pasta dishes like vegetable pasta casserole and baked broccoli pasta and get a lot of compliments from family and friends.
If you are planning to serve a crowd or make a recipe for a party, mixed vegetable casserole is a great crowd-pleaser dish to serve along with the side of a breadsticks.
Equipment
I have made this frozen breadsticks recipe in Instant Vortex Plus air fryer. It can be made in any type of air fryer, be it basket style or tray style, or any size. The only thing is that the number of breadsticks that can be air fried in one time will vary.
Depending on your air fryer and the size of breadsticks, the cooking time may vary by a few minutes.

Storage
It is best to eat the air fryer frozen breadsticks once it is done cooking. In case you have any leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container or in aluminum foil.
Just ensure that the breadsticks have cooled down completely before storing, or else they can become soggy.
When you are ready to eat, simply reheat the bread sticks in the air fryer at 350°F for a minute and enjoy it :).
