Banana ice cream is a nice summer treat to beat the heat. It is a perfect dessert to make when you have ripe bananas and you want to use them up. It is a frozen delight perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth or to make for a party or an event.
This is an easy banana ice cream recipe with no eggs made at home with only a handful of ingredients. It is made in the 1.5 qt. ICE 100 Cuisinart ice cream maker.

Ingredients
Banana ice cream is made of a few basic ingredients. You will need ripe bananas, the more ripe the better as they add more flavor to the ice cream. Although they are sweet, you will need some more sugar in the ice cream.
Heavy cream, whole milk, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract are the additional ingredients to make a delicious and creamy homemade banana ice cream.
Instructions
Blend the bananas, milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a high-speed blender like Vitamix until all the sugar is well dissolved. Transfer the puree into a bowl and mix in the vanilla extract and the heavy cream.
Stir it with a spoon and then chill the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Avoid leaving the mixture for a longer duration of time to prevent it from oxidizing.
Step 1: Gather all the ingredients.
Step 2: Make the ice cream base.
Depending on your ice cream maker, churn the ice cream mixture for about 25-30 minutes as per manufacturer's instructions. Ice cream will be of soft serve consistency and you can serve it immediately with your favorite toppings.
If you want a firmer consistency then transfer it to a freezer safe container and freeze it for 5-6 hours before serving.
Step 3: Churn the ice cream mixture.
Step 4: Freeze the ice cream for 5-6 hours before enjoying.
Serving suggestions
Banana ice cream tastes great as is. You will get a distinct banana flavor in every bite! If you want to enhance the flavor, you can add your favorite toppings like fruit toppings, chocolate syrup, peanut butter, caramel, chopped nuts, copped fruits, and more.
You can also serve it with banana split sundae, chocolate brownie, or lava cake.
There are a lot of fruit desserts you can enjoy in summer. Fruit cream and fruit chaat are my absolute favorites.
Variations
- Chocolate chips - add about half a cup of chocolate chips towards the end of the ice cream machine cycle to make chocolate banana ice cream. You can also add some grated dark chocolate.
Equipment
I have made this delicious and creamy banana ice cream in the 1.5 qt. ICE-100 Cuisinart ice cream maker with compressor. You can scale the recipe to make it in your ice cream maker.
To blend the bananas and make the ice cream base a high speed blender like Vitamix works well. You can use an immersion blender as well.

Storage
Just like most homemade ice creams, banana ice cream can be stored in the freezer up to a month. It is best to consume it in about 2 weeks. It is really delicious and it will be gone before you know :).
Top tip
Bananas must be ripe, the more ripe the better as they add more flavor and sweetness to the ice cream.

- 1 ½ cup Heavy cream
- ¾ cup Milk
- ½ cup Organic cane sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions

- Transfer to a bowl.
- Add in the heavy cream and and mix with a spatula.1 ½ cup Heavy cream
- Refrigerate the mixture for 15-20 minutes before churning.
- Stir the mixture and transfer it to the ice cream maker bowl.
- Churn the mixture for 25 minutes.
- Transfer the banana ice cream to a freezer-safe container.
- Freeze the ice cream for about 5-6 hours before serving.
