When plums are in season, this bread machine plum jam is quick and easy to make with just 4 ingredients.
A bread machine not only makes bread, but also jams too, and with just a press of a button!
Ingredients
This delicious, bright red plum jam requires only 4 ingredients. Fresh and ripe plums are needed. Chop them into small chunks or thin slices. Pectin is needed to make this jam which allows it to set.
Butter helps avoid bubble formation in the jam binds the jam well and gives it a glossy texture. Sugar gives the sweetness to the jam and balances the tanginess from plums and pectin.
Instructions
Place the plum slices, sugar, pectin, and butter into the bread machine pan. Select and start the "jam" cycle. The bread machine will mix all the ingredients with the paddles for a few minutes and then mix them intermittently while cooking.
Once the machine beeps and says it's done, the jam is cooked! Put on oven mitts and grab the hot pan from the bread machine.
Pour the jam into clean jars that have been sterilized. You can use regular glass jars or Ball Mason jars, whichever you have on hand. Let the jam cool down completely, then close the lid and refrigerate them.
Place all ingredients in the bread machine pan and start the "jam" cycle.
Jam is ready, transfer it to clean jars.

Storage

Top tip
Adding a little butter helps remove any bubbles trapped while making the jam and gives it a glossy texture.

- ¾ cup Organic cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon Pectin
- 1 teaspoon Unsalted butter
Instructions
- Cut the plums into thin slices or small chunks and discard the seeds.
- Place the plum slices, sugar, pectin, and butter in the bread machine container.1 lb Plums, ¾ cup Organic cane sugar, 1 tablespoon Pectin, 1 teaspoon Unsalted butter
- Select and start the "Jam" cycle.
- Once jam cycle is complete, transfer to a sterilized jar and let it cool. (CAUTION! Container will be very hot!)
