    Pineapple jam in a jar.

Nothing beats the taste of this fresh homemade pineapple jam. This bread machine pineapple jam is quick and easy to make with just 4 ingredients and at the press of a button.

    Ingredients

This delicious, pineapple jam requires only 4 ingredients. Fresh and ripe pineapple is needed. Remove the skin and core the pineapple into slices preferably using a pineapple corer. Blend the pineapple slices into a coarse pulp.

Pectin is needed to make this jam which allows it to set.

Butter helps avoid bubble formation in the jam binds the jam well and gives it a glossy texture. Sugar gives the sweetness to the jam and balances the tanginess from pectin.

Place the crushed pineapple, sugar, pectin, and butter into the bread machine pan. Select and start the "jam" cycle. The bread machine will mix all the ingredients with the paddles for a few minutes and then mix them intermittently and cook them as well.

Once the cycle completes, the jam is cooked! Put on oven mitts and grab the hot pan from the bread machine.

Pour the jam into clean sterilized jars. You can use regular glass jars or Ball Mason jars, whichever you have on hand but do not use any plastic containers. Let the jam cool down completely, then close the lid and refrigerate them.

    Serving suggestions

I like to serve pineapple jam with

    • Cottage cheese bread
    • Jalapeno cheese bread
    • Toast
    • Seed bread
    • Whole wheat bread
    • Potato bread

    Equipment

I made this pineapple jam in the Zojirushi bread machine using the "jam" setting. Any bread machine with the jam cycle will work fine to make this recipe.

    Storage

Pineapple jam can be stored in the fridge in airtight glass jars or Ball mason jars for about 2-3 months. It can also be frozen for much longer. Check out how to freeze jam.

    Top tip

Add a little butter to remove bubbles trapped while making the jam and give it a shiny texture.
